MemAid – Egocentric Safety & Behavior on Your Glasses

MemAid is a glasses-based safety and behavior system for older adults with early memory changes. It uses brief snapshots from the wearer’s point of view around risky moments at home, instead of always-on video.

What MemAid does today Now

Clip-on prototype on regular glasses.
Focused on risky kitchen moments (e.g., burner left on after you step away).
Can trigger a gentle alert and log a simple safety event.

Where it’s going next Soon

Bring the same egocentric system onto camera-enabled smart glasses.
Start with the same kitchen safety pattern as we harden the platform.
Then gradually explore other high-risk routines like medication handling, unsafe night-time kitchen visits, and repeated “did I do that?” checks.
